Students beginning a master's or certificate program at the Schar School in the fall 2023 semester or later, who reside in Washington, D.C., and Maryland can qualify for the Regional Pricing Policy. The Regional Pricing Policy tuition rate is equivalent to the in-state rate.
Eligibility and Terms
-
You must have resided in D.C. or Maryland for at least one year prior to the start of classes.
-
Students who qualify for this tuition rate should be prepared to supply documentation supporting one year of D.C. or Maryland residency before the start of classes, if requested. Documentation includes lease/mortgage, tax documents, drivers license, etc.
-
Applicants on student visas (F-1 or J-1) are not eligible.
- Students on nonstudent visas such as A-visas and H-visas may be eligible.
-
Change in domicile to a location outside Washington, D.C., or Maryland will change your tuition status.
- For example, if you were a resident of Maryland and move to North Carolina during your program, you would no longer be eligible for the Regional Pricing Policy.
-
Students receiving regional pricing are not eligible for Schar School merit-based scholarships.
-
Your admissions letter and all official documentation will continue to list you as an out-of-state student; however, each semester that you are eligible, the Schar School will apply the Regional Pricing Policy rate to your student account.
-
This policy applies to students who begin a master's or certificate program at the Schar School in the fall 2023 semester or later. It does not apply to returning students who began a program before the fall 2023 semester, undergraduate students, or PhD students.
