Transportation Policy, Operations, and Logistics
Malcom P. McLean Scholarship
Award Level
This award is for a total of $15,000
spread across two academic years. Additionally, the awardee will be
guaranteed participation in the prestigious Eno Transportation Foundation
Leadership Development Conference ($1,500 of the first year of the
award is set aside for this program).
Research Assistantship
Awardee will work with a faculty member
as a research assistant during the academic year for 20 hours/week.
(This applies only to awardees who are full-time students.)
Summer Internship
Awardee will be eligible for a paid internship
with a transportation company during the summer between the
first and second year.
Eligibility
Applicants to the Master’s in Transportation Policy, Operations & Logistics
(TPOL) at the School of Public Policy; U.S. citizens or permanent
residents only. Preference is given to full-time students.
Application Procedures
No additional application is required
for consideration for this award. All applicants to the TPOL
program will be considered for the award.
Conditions
Awards may be combined with other
university support.

Policy, Operations & Logistics

McLean (1913-2001) is known as the father
of containerization, which revolutionized the loading and
unloading of ships, and was a key enabling
technology for the logistics revolution
that is currently transforming the global production and
distribution of goods. He has been recognized
as one of ten people in the 20th Century
who changed the world.
