International Commerce Program
The International Commerce and Policy
(ICP) master’s degree is an innovative, interdisciplinary
graduate program focused on the globalizing economy. It combines
perspectives on business, technology, law, economics, and public
policy. The degree prepares students for a wide range of careers
in a dynamic world market of interconnected economies. Unlike traditional
international affairs programs, the ICP focuses on international,
political, and economic issues such as trade, investment, regional
integration, governance, and development. It differs from a traditional
MBA program by emphasizing the political, social, and technological
aspects of the international marketplace.
ICP students succeed in a variety of career paths, including global
marketing, corporate planning, public service in national and international
organizations, government relations, and private entrepreneurship.
"The ICP degree gives its students a unique skill set that enables
them to step into analytical and leadership positions in organizations
engaged in the global marketplace,’’ says Program Director
Ken Reinert. "This program is an opportunity to explore the world
from political, economic, and cultural perspectives.’’
Classes
are taught by the School of Public Policy’s prestigious
faculty as well as experts from the private
sector and government agencies including
the Department of Commerce, Office of the U.S.
Trade Representative, the Federal Reserve,
the International Trade Commission, and
the Department of State. A culturally and professionally
diverse student body greatly enhances the
learning experience. Study Abroad opportunities
provide a key experiential ingredient.
