New Voices in Public Policy
SPP Introduces Student-Run Journal

In an effort to showcase students’ innovative work, the School of Public Policy has launched an online student-run journal, New Voices in Public Policy. The publication is a forum for sharing students’ original policy research and analysis with the broader academic and public policy communities.

“New Voices in Public Policy is the realization of a vision for sharing the outstanding scholarship of the school’s student body,” said SPP Dean Kingsley Haynes. “The journal highlights the diversity of ideas and range of studies undertaken in the School of Public Policy. Reflecting the diversity of the student body, the authors hail from across the country and around the world.”

Students from across SPP fields of study, including international commerce, peace operations, organizational development, and transportation policy, as well as its flagship public policy program, will be responsible for the content of the publication. They represent the entire spectrum of professional experience, from young professional to senior management.

Haynes adds that the debut of this journal is “the result of the work of a small group of highly motivated and academically exceptional students who formed the first editorial board. I thank them for their dedication and tireless efforts.”

The inaugural issue of New Voices in Public Policy will be available online by May 18. To read the issue go to http://journals.gmu.edu/.
