Paul
Fengler (current ICP student) has been awarded the Alfa fellowship.
He will work for a financial institution
in Moscow during the six-month fellowship,
which begins in June.
George Mason University recognized
the following people, along with other
employees, at the 2007 University Day
Celebration on April 5: Professor
Jack High for 25 years of service, Professor
Desmond Dinan and Professor
John Paden for 20 years of service, Assistant
Dean Thys van Schaik for 10 years of
service, and Administrator
Kathleen Vitkus and Director
of Communications Jocelyn Rappaport for five years of
service.
The
following MPP students will be inducted
into the Pi Alpha Alpha honor
society on April 20 at George Mason’s
Fairfax Campus: Keith Collins,
Ryan Donmoyer, Brian Hanlon, Ben Hardaway,
Christopher Harm, Justin Hentges, Steven
Hurlburt, Timothy Johnson, David Lutter,
Margaret McDonnell, Michael McGinn,
Jack Osburn, Silva Pecini, Thomas Steinfeldt,
Charles Tobler, Karen Weiss, and Carol
Whitney. To be eligible for membership,
students must have a cumulative GPA

Johnson, director of the
Mason Enterprise Center’s Mentor
Protégé Program,
accepted, on behalf of the program,
an award of Special Recognition during
the 2007 Nunn-Perry Awards Program.
The award has been recognizing successful
mentor-protégé relationships
since it was founded by the Department
of Defense (DoD) in 1995. The award,
first given in 1995 and named in honor
of former Senator Sam Nunn and former
Secretary of Defense William Perry,
recognizes outstanding mentor-protégé teams
formed under the auspices of the DoD
Mentor-Protégé program.
The Mason Enterprise Center’s
Mentor Protégé (MP) Program
was one of 12 institutions recognized
as being integral in the success of
Nunn-Perry award winners. Since the
MP Program began in 1995, the Mason
Enterprise Center has provided support
to 15 Nunn-Perry award winners. To

Fraim (current student in the Peace
Operations program) and Christopher
Harm (current student in the MPP program) were
nominated by SPP and chosen by OPM
to be finalists in the Presidential
Management Fellows Program (PMF). The
program attracts men and women with
an interest in public policy to federal
service and seeks to provide skilled
and diverse people for public service.
