The award, first given in 1995 and named in honor of former Senator Sam Nunn and former Secretary of Defense William Perry, recognizes outstanding mentor-protégé teams formed under the auspices of the DoD Mentor-Protégé program. The Mason Enterprise Center’s Mentor Protégé (MP) Program was one of 12 institutions recognized as being integral in the success of Nunn-Perry award winners.
