Awards, Honors, Appointments

Douglas A. Brook (PhD ’01) was elected to the National Academy of Public Administration. Other SPP members of NAPA are Dean Kingsley Haynes, Professor A. Lee Fritschler, Professor James Pfiffner, and Professor Susan Tolchin.

Professor Connie McNeely
received a National Science Foundation award of $33,366 to support development of a research agenda for science, technology, and methods women (STMW) in leadership. In addition, her grant, titled “Policy Diffusion and Organizational Effects on STMW in Higher Education,” received an award of $845,277 for three years—the largest-ever award...

Presentations

Ben Allen (PhD ‘02) presented his working paper, “An Overview of the Head Start and Early Head Start Programs,” at the International Conference on Worldwide Start Programs for Children, held at the Seoul Press Center in Seoul, South Korea.

Distinguished Senior Fellow Rex Brown gave a keynote address, “Designing Decision Research to Be Useful,” to a UNESCO-sponsored conference on Creativity and Innovation in Decision Making and Decision Support at the London School of Economics on June 30. The address is scheduled to be published in the Journal of Decision Making.
