A new
book written by Ron Hira, who received
his Ph.D. from SPP in 2002 and is now a public
policy
professor at Rochester Institute of Technology,
and his brother Anil, a political scientist

received considerable media attention since
its release on May 30, 2005.

Study Abroad Programs
This
summer, SPP offered two Study Abroad
programs which enabled students to earn three
credits
in two weeks while experiencing a new culture.
For the first time, a
program of study in South Africa was offered.

Of Public Policy Exceeds Enrollment Goals
George Mason’s School
of Public Policy has seen enrollments increase
by more than 10% this year; that means a growth
of 55 full-time students.

to discuss the Senate’s attempt to
filibuster over the president’s judicial
nominees.

Mark Rozell, professor
of public policy and director of the
SPP Masters program, was
busy over the summer keeping George Mason’s
name alive in local
media outlets.
He appeared on WAMU’s "Kojo
Nnamdi Show" to
discuss state politics on June 6, 2005.

During July and
August, SPP Professor Mark
Addleson was a visiting lecturer
at the Graduate School of Business,
University of Cape Town, South Africa—most
likely the only business school in
the world which was originally a
prison.
