In June Stuart Malawer, distinguished professor of law and international trade in the School of Public Policy, attended a three day meeting at the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, Switzerland. There, trade experts, private sector representatives and diplomats from governments around the world gathered to discuss the critical issues still confronting negotiators participating in the current trade round of negotiations. These talks are known as the “Doha Round,” named for the city in Qatar where these discussions were authorized.

Dr. Malawer addressed the general issue of enforcement of WTO decisions, especially those rendered against the European Union and the United States. He also participated in discussions concerning the new WTO
