The School of Public Policy's Enterprise
Engineering & Policy (EEP) program was recently awarded an $87,000
grant from Sun Microsystems.

Under the guidance of Dr.
Arnauld Nicogossian, former senior advisor to the NASA Administrator
for health care and aerospace medicine, the School of Public Policy is
launching an International Medical Affairs and Policy office.

of Public Policy Professors Ted Woodcock, David Davis, and Allison Frendak-Blume
organized and conducted a post-conflict
stabilization study of Afghanistan at the Swedish National Defence
College in Stockholm in January in support of the Defence College and
the US Joint Staff (J8).

Dengjian
Jin, a 1998 graduate of the School of Public Policy (SPP), has been
awarded tenure within the in International Studies, Business and Management
Department at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Tucker, a 2002 alumnus of the Transportation
Policy, Operations and Logistics master's program, of was recently
named as policy manager for the Transportation and Mobility Planning Division
of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

Dr. Arnauld
E. Nicogossian of the School of Public Policy was cited in a recent article
in U.S. Medicine, a publication for federal physicians. His 30 year federal

Research Advocate of the Year Honoree
Dr. Roger
R. Stough has been named the 2003 Research Advocate of the Year by
the U.S. Small Business Administration Washington Metropolitan Area District
Office.

Grad Student is Mikado in Acclaimed DC Production
Lewis
Freemen, a student in the Masters in Public Policy Program, had one
of the lead roles in the DC Savoyards' production of Gilbert and Sullivan's
Mikado last weekend.

Houses $38,000 NSF Grant to Establish Science and Technology Policy Conference
The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded the Science,
Technology and Policy Graduate Student Conference group a $38,000
three-year grant.

Members Organize International Workshop in India's Silicon Valley
Thanks to a grant from the National Science Foundation, Dr. Tojo Thatchenkery
and Dr. Roger Stough of the
School of Public Policy have organized a workshop with the Indian Institute
of Science on learning from the Indian development experience.

Local and the Global - Contexts in Science and Technology
The 3rd annual Graduate
Student Conference on Science and Technology was held on the weekend
of April 12-13 at the headquarters of the American Association for the
Advancement of Science in Washington, DC.

Chinese
Scholar Studies at School of Public Policy This Semester
Zhao,
Lanxiang, an associate professor at the Institute of Policy and Management
of the Chinese Academy of Sciences will be a visiting scholar at the School
of Public Policy this semester. Her fields of interest are science and
technology policy, innovation policy and technology management.
George Reese, NASA Executive, Joins SPP
Mr George
Reese has recently joined SPP as a visiting professor as part of an
Intergovernmental Personnel Act agreement.
