Operations Program Offers Afghanistan Rehab Course for Second Year
The School of Public Policy's Peace
Operations Policy Program (POPP) and the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna
of Pisa, Italy hosted a workshop on preparing for rehabilitation efforts
in Afghanistan February 3-14 at George Mason University's Arlington campus.

in the School of Public Policy (SPP), presented a paper at the American
Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) annual meeting in February
in Denver, Colorado.

Enterprise Center Launches Outreach to Korean, Hispanic and Vietnamese
Business Owners
March 28 will mark the kick-off date for a Mason
Enterprise Center (MEC) program reaching out to Korean, Vietnamese
and Hispanic business owners in Northern Virginia.

professor of communications and public policy, hosted a program entitled
History Now: Defending America on the History Channel Saturday,

(SPP) presented papers at the November 2002 research conference of the
Association
for Public Policy Analysis and Management (APPAM) in Dallas.

put on a two-day workshop on maximizing supply chain preparedness Monday

Dr. Amr
Abdalla, affiliate assistant professor with the School of Public Policy
has won an award from the National Association of Student Assistance Professionals
(NASAP) for his evaluation project with the Prince William County, Virginia
public school system.

Presents Paper on President and War on Terrorism
James
P. Pfiffner, professor of public policy, wrote and presented a paper
on the Bush administration's foreign policy decision making for the conference
on The Presidency, Congress, and the War on Terrorism: Scholarly Perspectives.

Horizons Episode Featuring Roger Stough Wins National Television Award
Tech
Horizons, GMU-TV's technology program, recently won a Silver Telly
in the 24th Annual Telly Awards for the episode which included a segment
on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) featuring Dr. Roger Stough,
professor of public policy.
Center
for Aerospace Technology and Management Formalized at School of Public
Policy
Continuing and further developing an interest it has had in the past,
the School of Public Policy (SPP) recently formed a Center
for Aerospace Technology and Management. The center, under the guidance
of Dr. Ken Button, professor of public policy, will look at the development
of aerospace policy and the way it interacts with other policy.
