New Course Focuses on Islam and the Internet
In keeping with the increased interest in Islam spurred by last fall's terrorist attacks, Stephen Ruth, a professor in the School of Public Policy, will present a new graduate course this fall, Islam and the Internet: Telecommunications and Technology in the Muslim World.

George Mason Approved as FAA Collegiate Partner
George Mason signed an agreement on Monday with the Federal Aviation Administration to participate in the Airways Facilities-Collegiate Training Initiative.

School of Public Policy Expands Transportation Master's Program
The School of Public Policy will begin offering its master's program in transportation policy, operations, and logistics in Suffolk this fall. The program will be offered in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Hampton Roads District and will be broadcast via interactive television from the Arlington Campus.

On May 18 110 School of Public Policy students commemorated the successful completion of their certificates, masters or doctoral degrees and officially became alumni at the school's commencement.

The School of Public Policy, in conjunction with the Fund for American Studies, will host a conference commemorating the intellectual contributions of public policy Professor Donald Lavoie.

New Ph.D. Students Gather at Airlie House
On August 23 and 24 twenty new doctoral students and most of the faculty and staff of the School of Public Policy gathered for a two day orientation at the Airlie House retreat center in Warrenton, Virginia.
