Tom Davis to Speak at Commencement Ceremonies

United States Representative Thomas R. Davis III will give the commencement address and receive the Founders Award, an honor given to the convocation speaker. Davis represents Virginia's 11th District in the U.S. Congress. Davis is a Republican who is serving his fifth term. In January 2001, Tom was named chairman of the Government Reform Subcommittee on Technology and Procurement Policy. He also has reclaimed his seat on the Energy and Commerce Committee, with a spot on the Subcommittee on Telecommunications and the Internet. Both posts are critical to Northern Virginia's high tech community. Before being elected to Congress, Tom Davis was chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. Previously, he was vice president and general counsel of a high tech company in McLean. He is a graduate of Amherst College and The University of Virginia law school. Visiting Public Policy Professor Jean Paelinck, an accomplished pianist, composed March of the School of Public Policy. Professor Paelinck will perform the march this year, which has been a feature at the graduation ceremonies since 1998. Hear
