For international students requesting an F-1 or J-1 visa:
For applicants seeking F-1 or J-1 immigration
status, you must demonstrate that you
have sufficient funds available for
your academic and living expenses.
Along with the other required credentials,
international applicants must submit
an original bank statement or an original
letter on bank letterhead signed by
a bank official showing a total of
$27,859 for the 2006-2007 academic
year.
Financial Assistance Opportunities for Ph.D. Students
The School of Public Policy offers Graduate Research Assistantships (GRAs) for full-time Ph.D. students. These awards are offered for students applying for the fall term only. To be considered for a GRA, please indicate this on the application for graduate study. The GRAs provide tuition remission for three courses and an annual stipend.
To apply for need-based federal assistance,
students are required to fill out
the Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (FAFSA) form. To receive
priority consideration for these
funds, your FAFSA should be received
by the federal processor on or before
March 1. To access the FAFSA form

Financial
Assistance Opportunities for
Master's Students
SPP offers a number of different
financial assistance opportunities for master’s students,
including merit-based scholarships and need-based federal assistance.
Students will be considered for merit-based scholarships if GRE
scores are submitted, and will be awarded these based on their
academic credentials. No separate financial application is necessary
to be considered for these awards.

students seeking funding consideration
from the School of Public Policy
in the form of Merit-Based Scholarships
are required to
submit the Graduate Record Examination
(GRE) scores.
Those seeking Federal Financial Aid
only are not required to submit GRE
scores.

Academic
Common Market
The Academic Common Market (ACM) is an
interstate agreement among southern states for sharing academic
programs. Participating states enable their residents who qualify
for admission to enroll in specific graduate programs in other states
without having to pay out-of-state tuition. Participating states
are: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana,
Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Oklahoma,
Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
The School of Public Policy has three programs
which are part of the Academic Common Market: International
Commerce and Policy; Organization Development and Knowledge
Management; and Peace Operations.
