Center Description
The George Mason School of Public Policy’s Mason Enterprise Center is the heart of its commitment to serving the local Northern Virginia community. It embodies seven programs geared to stimulating business development in the Washington, D.C. area by providing expert counseling to real clients on issues such as obtaining financing, winning government contracts, developing a business plan, and building new markets around the world.

Established as a not-for-profit institution by George Mason University in 1995, the Mason Enterprise Center programs put the best minds of the School of Public Policy to work in ways that help local entrepreneurs achieve success. Students from various areas of George Mason, including the Schools of Public Policy, Management, and Information Technology and Engineering, are actively involved in the Mason Enterprise Center as interns and part-time employees.

The center’s programs include the Small Business Development Center, which provides professional counseling for start-up ventures. The Mason Enterprise Center also sponsors events and training to help employers gain worker productivity through the use of telecommuting and provides direct help to area businesses bidding on government contracts and looking to expand overseas. Organizations interested in retaining the center's services should call 703-277-7700.
