Center Description
Energy policy promises to be one of the key issues of the 21st century. The nation and the world must mitigate climate change caused by fossil fuel combustion, while still providing secure and affordable supplies of energy to support economic development and growth. Effective energy policy depends on solid scientific and policy analysis. It is an intrinsically multi-disciplinary endeavor. This center, a joint initiative of the College of Science and School of Public Policy, provides objective analysis of key issues in the energy field that is grounded in original research. It serves as a center of gravity for the many researchers at George Mason whose work engages them with these issues and connects them with decision-makers in the economy, society, and government.
