Button Publishes Book Chapters
Professor Kenneth Button wrote chapters for two recently published books. The chapter, "Does the primary problem of applying cost-benefit analysis to transportation policies lie in the methodology or in the forecasts used?" appeared in Applied Transport Economics: A Management and Policy Perspective. The chapter, "The Transmogrification of Hub-and-Spoke Airline Networks" appeared in Critical Issues in Air Transport Economics and Business.

Manheim has letter published in Elements
Affiliate Professor Frank T. Manheim had his letter, "The other side of the coin: basic research in U.S. universities" published in Elements (International Magazine of Mineralogy, Geochemistry, and Petrology).

Associate Dean For Research Jonathan Gifford had his report, "State Infrastructure Banks: A Virginia Perspective," published by Virginia Department of Transportation in December.

Tolchin has Op-ed published in Chicago Tribune
University Professor Susan J. Tolchin and Martin Tolchin's op-ed, "The city's persistent partner of patronage" was published in the Chicago Tribune on December 16.

Tolchin has articles and Op-ed published
University Professor Susan J. Tolchin wrote, with Martin Tolchin, three articles that appeared in the Huffington Post: "Congress Needs a Robot to Make Tough Decisions," published November 20; "How New Jacobins Persuade Us to Vote against Our Interests," published October 22; and "Pinstripes and Teabags," published October 8. Susan Tolchin also wrote, with Martin Tolchin, the op-ed "What's So Bad about Earmarks?" which appears in AOL News, November 16.

Assistant Professor Sonia Ketkar wrote "Distribution System Choice in Service Industries: An Analysis of the International Insurance Market," which was published in the Journal of International Management.

Thatchenkery is guest editor of Management Decision and International Journal of Technology Marketing
Professor Tojo Thatchenkery is guest editor for the special edition of Management Decision "Business Cases for Enhancing Organizational Excellence" and the special issue of the International Journal of Technology Marketing "Leveraging Technological Innovation for Competitive Advantage."

Chao's paper published by Finance and Trade Economics as well as Chinese Public Administration
Former visiting professor Yuxin Chao's paper "Statistical Exposure of International Research Focus of Public Economics—Analysis Based on JPE in 2000–2009" was published by Finance and Trade Economics in August and "Program Assessing and Rating Tool in the U.S. Federal Government (PART): Structure, Operation and Characteristics" was published by Chinese Public Administration. Chao reports that the papers were based on work accomplished while at SPP. Chao currently is an associate professor with the School of Public Finance, Taxation and Public Administration and the Institute of Public Finance and Taxation at Shandong University of Finance.

Richardson and published by Information Age Publishing January 29, 2010.

Hart and Tian's book section published in Innovation Policy and the Limits of Laissez-faire: Hong Kong's Policy in Comparative Perspective
Professor David Hart and PhD student Fangmeng (Tim) Tian wrote the chapter "Talent for a Knowledge-Based and Innovation-Oriented Economy: Hong Kong’s Challenges and Opportunities" in Innovation Policy and the Limits of Laissez-faire: Hong Kong's Policy in Comparative Perspective, edited by Douglas B. Fuller and published by Palgrave Macmillan in November 2010.

Faculty have received grants from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Science Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and are Fulbright Scholars and Mellon Fellowship recipients.

In 2009 and 2010, the School’s 45 faculty produced 16 books, 78 book chapters, 23 edited volumes, and 203 refereed journal articles.
