The ODKM-NLC program is the result of a partnership between Mason’s School of Public Policy and the National Labor College. Students affiliated with a union join a special cohort that focuses on issues and challenges relevant to labor organizations. Upon graduation, students are awarded a Master of Science in Organization Development and Knowledge Management from George Mason University.
To participate in this cohort, students must be affiliated with a union. All others should apply to the regular ODKM cohort program offered at Mason’s School of Public Policy—Arlington Campus.
We are currently accepting applications for ODKM-NLC Cohort 3, which will begin in the spring 2013 term.
Schedule:

ODKM-NLC Cohort 3 Schedule – Coming Soon!
Tuition:
The ODKM-NLC program combines online collaborative learning and in-person instruction during scheduled residencies at the NLC campus in Silver Spring, Md. Students admitted to the program pay in-state tuition prices, no matter where they currently reside.
Tuition and fees are billed by George Mason University’s Office of Continuing Professional Education (OCPE) prior to each residency period. Several weeks before your cohort’s first class, OCPE will send an email with Contract Course Enrollment forms and Contract Course Payment forms. All students are required to complete this paperwork and pay their tuition bill for the residency period by the date stipulated by OCPE. This will be approximately two weeks before the first class.
Estimated cost per billing period varies due to the number of credit hours for each class, student and technology fees, etc., but will range between $2,000 and $6,800.
Current Tuition:
Academic Year 2011-2012 tuition prices: $661/per credit hour.
Total tuition for the program is $23,798.
Credit Hours: The ODKM-NLC degree requires 36* credit hours.
*This assumes that students will be waived from a 3-credit internship requirement. Formal assessment as to whether a student will be required to complete this internship will take place once a student has matriculated in the program.
Books: Cost of books will also vary by residency, but expect to pay anywhere between $300 and $400 per residency period.
Financial Aid/Scholarships: Federal need-based assistance is available for students. The School of Public Policy also offers merit-based scholarships for incoming students. For more information regarding tuition assistance, please visit our Tuition and Financial Assistance web page.
