Welcome to George Mason University's School of Public Policy. Pursuing an education and career in this field is both challenging and rewarding -- it's a unique pairing of leadership and service that commands individuals to take an active part in making decisions that affect communities, countries, and the world as a whole. The field of public policy calls for being a proponent of change, as well as an advocate for those you serve. And it requires a well-balanced perspective in defining and resolving issues.

Our eminent faculty, extensive program offerings, diverse student body, and university support are all critical facets of the rich education we offer.

Our Faculty
Our faculty members are among the best in the world, incomparably qualified professionals who immerse themselves in regional, national, and global communities, acting as consultants to government, business, and nonprofit clients. They've helped develop the school's transitive approach to education -- the partnership of real-world experts leading practical application studies in a teaching role that more closely resembles a comprehensive mentorship.

Our Programs
We offer six master's degree programs and a nationally recognized doctorate degree program that is among the largest in the country. Our certificate program allows our master's students to gain special knowledge in different areas of policy study. We also have opportunities in joint degrees, partnership programs, executive program studies, non-degree offerings, and a vital study abroad program.

Our Students
Our students come from all over the world. They represent diverse political, social, and academic backgrounds. Our student population is almost an extension of our faculty -- broadening the education we offer by sharing their varied interests and experience.

Our University
We're fortunate on many levels to be supported by George Mason University. Our students and faculty have access to the vast educational and community resources this major university houses. Our geographic location in Northern Virginia puts us at the crossroads of the seat of government and one of the most thriving technology corridors in the world. Mere minutes from the nation's capital, we have access to an extensive national and international network including federal policymakers, government officials, business leaders, distinguished faculty, and cutting-edge research.

Our Commitment
As a recognized leader in policy studies, we're committed to cultivating the talents of our students and our faculty. We're also passionate about change, and look forward to the continued evolution of public policy and its role in national and global leadership. We invite you to join us, and be a part of shaping the future.
